The agreement
Last updated 23 September 2026. Short, and in plain words.
Strokecovery is not medical care. It is not a medical device, it is not therapy, and it cannot diagnose anything. It is practice between sessions — the equivalent of the worksheets a therapist sends home, not the therapist.
Keep your speech and language therapist. Nothing here replaces them, and no score in this app should change your treatment. A score is a machine's guess about one spoken word. It can be wrong, and it does not know you.
If something medical changes, call a doctor, not an app. New weakness, new confusion, a sudden change in speech, a bad headache — these need emergency care immediately.
These terms are between you and Gireesh S, an individual based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, who runs Strokecovery. "We" and "us" mean them. "You" means you.
By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use Strokecovery.
You must be 18 or over to have an account.
If you are a family member or carer helping someone practise, that is exactly what this app was built for, and you are welcome. The account should belong to the person practising, and they should know it exists and agree to it. If they cannot give that agreement themselves, please only set up an account if you have the legal standing to decide for them.
We said this at the top and we will say it once more here, because it is the term that matters most.
We promise no recovery, no improvement, and no particular result. Aphasia recovery depends on many things, most of which have nothing to do with an app. Anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something.
Strokecovery is early. Being honest about what that means:
We will do our best to preserve your practice history, but during a beta we cannot guarantee it against every kind of failure.
You sign in with Google, so there is no Strokecovery password to lose. Keep your Google account secure — anyone who can open it can open your practice history.
One account per person, please. Tell us at admin@strokecovery.com if you think someone else has used your account.
Please do not:
We can suspend or close an account that does these things. Where it is reasonable to, we will tell you why first.
Your practice history is yours. We use it only to run the app for you — chiefly to decide which words come next.
Your voice recordings are never stored. They are scored and discarded. The full detail is in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
We may look at anonymous, aggregated numbers — how many sets get finished, how often scoring fails — to improve the app. Nothing in that identifies you.
The app, the website, the name Strokecovery, the design and the code belong to us. Using the app does not give you rights over them.
Strokecovery is provided as is. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its scoring will be accurate.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of Strokecovery, including any decision made on the basis of a score it gave. Where liability cannot be excluded by law, it is limited to the amount you have paid us — which, during the beta, is nothing.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
You can stop using Strokecovery at any time, and ask us to delete your account and everything in it by emailing admin@strokecovery.com. We do it within 30 days.
We may close an account that breaks these terms, or close the service itself. If we ever shut Strokecovery down, we will give you reasonable notice and a way to get your practice history out first.
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.
If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands.
We may update these terms. The date at the top will change, and for anything significant we will email you before it takes effect. Continuing to use the app after that means you accept the new terms.
